Moresco Penning Luciano Biopic

“Crash” co-writer Bobby Moresco will write a $35 million film about organized crime patriarch Charlie “Lucky” Luciano for Full Force Productions reports Variety.

Joseph Isgro (“Hoffa”), a former independent record promoter who was once accused but cleared of ties to the Gambino clan, is producing the film and claims to have rights and input from a longtime Luciano confidante.

The film deals with Luciano’s rise from Lower East Side street hood to architect of the organized crime syndicate, and then how the government put Luciano away for thirty years before leveraging his cooperation in America’s WWII efforts with the promise of a pardon.

Concert and sports promoter Frank J. Russo is also behind a rival project about Luciano.
