More “X-Men: Apocalypse” Story Details

Following on from those new photos this morning, EW has revealed some new story details about where the characters in “X-Men: Apocalypse” start out in the new film.

Bryan Singer tells the mag that the five millennia old Apocalypse awakens and decides he’s not a fan of the world and Reagan-era: “It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction. It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs special assistants in this process.”

Those ‘Four Horsemen’ will include Storm who has been living on the streets of Cairo, Psylocke who is working for mutant-broker Caliban in Eastern Europe, Angel who is part of a Berlin fight club, and Magneto who has been living with a new love in Poland until his world is “shattered”.

Meanwhile, Mystique is now rescuing oppressed mutants like Nightcrawler and ends up reconnecting with Charles Xavier who is now teaching young mutants how to control their abilities so that they can work in society. These young mutants include old trilogy characters Cyclops, Jean Grey and Jubilee. Singer says: “This is kind of the introduction to them. At the same time, it has concluding aspects of those previous stories.”

There’s also some new shots of the five younger versions of mutants we’re familiar with from the old trilogy – Storm, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Jean Grey and Jubilee.
