Tying in with the announcement of FOX’s 2016-17 schedule, the network’s chairman and CEO Dana Walden confirmed that there has been conversations about a further season of “The X-Files” following the six-episode revival earlier this year.
Walden says: “I believe everyone is on board to do another instalment of the show…hopefully, this time next year we will have more news”. That would seem to indicate we shouldn’t expect it for this coming season, but rather late 2017 or early 2018 at the earliest – mostly due to a matter of scheduling.
Said “conversations” took place with creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson who’ve all previously indicated their willingness to return.
