With filming underway on “Marvel’s The Punisher” series for Netflix, the company has announced three more cast members who will be joining Jon Bernthal and Deborah Ann Woll in the series.
“Girls” actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach has joined as Micro, a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them. Amber Rose Revah (“Indian Summers”) is also hopping on as Dinah Madani, a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.
Finally the previously announced Ben Barnes, who is also in HBO’s “Westworld” from this weekend, is revealed to be playing the key role of Billy Russo, Frank Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces. Russo now runs a successful private military corporation called ‘Anvil’ and in the comics becomes the villain Jigsaw.
“The Punisher” series is now looking to premiere between “Marvel’s Iron Fist” on March 17th and “The Defenders” towards year’s end. “Iron Fist” gets a panel at the New York Comic Con on Saturday and ahead of that, Marvel has revealed a special variant cover for a prequel comic to the series – the art featuring Finn Jones as Danny Rand.
