Dimension Films is already developing a sequel to the just opened “Piranha 3D” reports Variety.
Made for an economical $24 million, the film opened in disappointing sixth place but still managed a decent $10 million for its opening weekend and has opened well in a few select international territories. More surprising though were the critical reviews which proved quite good, the film managing a surprisingly strong 82% positive reaction on Rotten Tomatoes.
Alexandre Aja (“The Hills Have Eyes”) directed the first film but there’s no word if he will return, and no-one else has been linked yet. Mark Canton will once again produce.
