As previously reported, writer/director Kevin Smith is developing a futuristic outer space comedy says The Hollywood Reporter.
Now we’ve learned that the $45-50 million film will reference other sci-fi movies and revolves around a father-son relationship.
The project would easily be the biggest budget of a film by the indie-minded Smith who will produce with partner Scott Mosier.
Smith’s regular distributors the Weinsteins have read part of Smith’s first draft and are interested in making the movie.
Smith will not move forward on the film until after his next project “Red State”.
