More Join “Powers,” “Scream,” “Constantine”

A bunch of major TV casting has happened in the past day or so:

Eddie Izzard (“Hannibal”), Noah Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) and Olesya Rulin (“High School Musical”) have all scored major roles in Sony Playstation Network’s “Powers”. The upcoming direct-to-series adaptation of the acclaimed comic follows a pair of cops who investigate crimes related to people with superhuman abilities. [Source: Deadline]

Four more names have joined the cast of the pilot based on the “Scream” franchise for MTV. Bex Taylor-Klaus (“Arrow”) will replace the previously set Amy Forsyth in the role of a Lutheran pastor’s daughter and aspiring filmmaker.

Also onboard are Bobby Campo (“The Final Destination”) as a hunky English teacher, Connor Weil (“Sharknado”) as an all-American high school basketball player, and Joel Gretsch (“V,” “The 4400”) is Sheriff Clark Hudson who is a good guy and father to one of the kids. [Source: The Live Feed]

Newcomer Michael James Shaw has signed on to play the recurring role of Papa Midnite, the voodoo king of New Orleans, in NBC’s “Constantine”. The character serves as a primary adversary to Matt Ryan’s John Constantine in the series, but in the comics they have also been allies at different times. [Source: ]

British actress Thandie Newton (“Mission Impossible 2”) and Aussie Miranda Otto (“The Lord of the Rings”) have joined the cast of HBO’s “Westworld” series, a drama series set at a theme park where visitors can live out their fantasies via the help of thoroughly believable robots.

Otto will play Virginia Pittman, the brutal honest and ruthlessly efficient head of the quality assurance department. Newton will play Maeve Millay, a Westworld madame with a razor sharp intellect and a knack for survival. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Dovekeepers
Diego Boneta (“Rock of Ages”) has joined the cast of the CBS miniseries “The Dovekeepers”. Boneta plays Amram, a man linked to two of the central female characters in the epic story set in biblical times.

The story recount the events from the perspective of four women whose live intersect in a fight for survival after the Jews were forced out of Jerusalem by the Romans. [Source: Variety]
