Two fresh faces have scored key roles in two of 2018’s biggest tentpole films.
Ian Kenny, the shaved headed bully from “Sing Street,” has joined the currently in production young Han Solo “Star Wars” spin-off film. The story will span a seven-year period, covering Han’s life from ages 18-24, and as usual Kenny’s role is being kept under wraps.
Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson, Michael K. Williams, and Emilia Clarke also star in that film which Phil Lord and Chris Miller are helming. It opens May 25th 2018.
The other is Sian Brooke, who played the main antagonist across the recent fourth season of “Sherlock,” has scored a key role in the next installment in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise.
She joins a cast that currently includes Tom Cruise, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner. Christopher McQuarrie helms from a script he co-wrote and filming is expected to start in the spring.
