Some new casting details about the young Leatherface in the upcoming “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” prequel reveal that the story is going to take a different approach than you might expect.
The Wrap reports that the film will be “presented as a mystery of sorts about three teenage psychopaths, one of whom grows up to be Leatherface.”
Sam Strike, who was reportedly cast as the young Leatherface earlier this week, will play one of the trio named Jackson. James Bloor has also just joined the cast as Ike, one other other candidates, with the third yet to be cast.
The story will center around the kids who break out of an institution. Also onboard is Angela Bettis as the Sawyer family matriarch Verna, a part played by Marilyn Burns in 2013’s “Texas Chainsaw 3D”.
Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo are helming “Leatherface” which will be based on a script by Seth M. Sherwood.
