More Bond on Blu-ray In March

The second wave of James Bond Blu-ray discs hits stores March 2009 and will include the three best titles of the Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan eras – “Goldfinger,” “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “GoldenEye”.

Unfortunately the batch also includes three of the weakest non-Moore entries of the franchise as well – Connery’s final and campiest outing “Diamonds are Forever”, Timothy Dalton’s ‘Miami Vice’-esque final film “Licence To Kill”, and the just released ‘Bourne’-esque “Quantum of Solace”. Brosnan’s commendable but flawed “The World is Not Enough” is also included in this release.

The third and final wave of titles will likely include the eight remaining holdovers – “You Only Live Twice,” “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” “The Man with the Golden Gun,” “Moonraker,” “Octopussy,” “A View to a Kill,” “The Living Daylights” and “Tomorrow Never Dies”.

No date as yet for the third wave though early estimates are they’ll hit around July/August.
