New photos and details from the film adaptation of Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed” video game series have been released over at EW as part of their Fall preview edition.
Turns out several assassins from the game series will be making their way to the big screen. Speaking with the movie’s weapons master Tim Wildgoose, he revealed that while the arsenal of Michael Fassbender’s Aguilar in the film is inspired by Islamic art and architecture, some of the supporting characters come from a different source:
“There’s basically a few assassins taken straight from the games, who we get to see in the films. We actually get to use some of the real game weapons in there. They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy.”
Sadly we won’t be getting the likes of Altair and Ezio. The mag does confirm though that Jeremy Irons will be playing Alan Rikkin who was in the first title, while Michael K. Williams will play the “Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation” character Baptiste.
