Coming off great reviews for his Sam Rockwell-led sci-fi tale “Moon”, writer/director Duncan Jones will tackle an ensemble thriller mystery entitled “Mute” reports Screen Daily.
Set in a future-time Berlin, the story kicks off with the disappearance and possible kidnapping of a woman. Her partner, a mute bartender, must go up against the city’s gangsters to find her.
Jones previously stated in interviews that despite the “Blade Runner”-esque setting, the film is a very human story about how people “lose their humanity because of the world that they live in.”
The $25 million UK/German co-production will shoot around the German city including the Studio Babelsberg facilities. Filming kicks off early next year.
