Monumental Pictures is reportedly currently in the process of developing a biographical film based on the life of late British soul singer Amy Winehouse with plans to shoot it next year.
Winehouse’s family has reportedly completed a deal with the studio to executive produce with the proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation which was created to help people struggling with alcohol and drug misuse and addiction.
Alison Owen and Debra Hayward will produce and Geoff Deane will pen the script. Multi-Grammy award winner Winehouse died at the young age of 27 in 2011 due to alcohol poisoning with her story covered previously in Asif Kapadia’s 2015 doco “Amy”.
