Momoa Talks “Conan”, Johnson On “Shazam”

Actor Jason Momoa says plans for a sequel to the upcoming reboot of the “Conan the Barbarian” franchise is already in the works depending upon the success of the first film.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Momoa was asked directly if a sequel was in development. He responded “Oh yeah…There are sequels to everything. There’s a Fast & Furious seven, isn’t there? There’s like four Pirates Of The Caribbean.”

He went on to add that he’s quite excited about his titular role in the upcoming sword and sorcery franchise restarter – “I got to see a rough cut, and people are going to be stoked. We’re not remaking anything Arnold did. It’s a totally new story. The same legendary character. We’re taking these tons and tons of great Robert E. Howard stories from the 30s, and combining a couple and bringing it to audiences in a way that’s new and fresh”.

Meanwhile one project without as rosy a future has been “Shazam!”, aka. the Captain Marvel project based on the DC Comics title. Actor Dwayne Johnson has been linked to play the antagonist Black Adam for some time and the actor remains optimistic he’ll get to do it one day.

“I haven’t let it go. I love that idea. I’ve always loved the idea of playing Black Adam. In Hollywood, a lot of times when something is in development, it just takes a lot of time. So it’s in development hell right now. Who knows what’s going to happen with that. Maybe, maybe not – I’m always here” he tells MTV News.
