Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward’s just released “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” delivered a massive opening weekend recently with their latest offering racking up $600 million in its first three days of release.
A reimagining of 2007’s “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,” the new title hit October 25th and sold more units in its first three days of launch than any of the seven previous “Call of Duty” games on the current generation of consoles. It beat last year’s “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” by over $100 million.
“Modern Warfare” also scored the top-selling digital opening in publisher Activision’s history, including the most digital sales on the PS4 and PC. The sales come despite being banned in Russia for its depiction of the military conflict in Syria.
