FX has cancelled its Denis Leary-led comedy series “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” after just two seasons. In the show Leary played Johnny Rock, an over-the-hill rock star struggling with personal problems as well as professional woes. The second season wrapped a week ago.
Leary last month appeared at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills to promote the show. He previously starred in FX’s “Rescue Me” which ran for seven seasons and is currently a producer on the IFC sitcom “Benders”.
At the same time, ABC has cancelled the summer soap “Mistresses” after four seasons. Tuesday’s season four finale, which saw the apparent death of Yunjin Kim’s Karen character, now serves as the series finale.
