Miranda Otto (“The Lord of the Rings,” “Homeland”) has been tapped to play the co-lead in FOX’s “24: Legacy” reboot opposite Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”).
Though structured in the same style of the original series, this features an all-new cast of characters and it’s unclear how much of the original continuity from the show will be adhered to at this point. What is known is that none of the previous characters, such as Kiefer Suthlerland’s Jack Bauer, will return.
Hawkins plays a military hero returning to the U.S. who finds that trouble has followed him back – compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
Otto plays Rebecca Ingram, the blazingly smart former head of CTU who is now married to Senator John Donovan and struggles with second thoughts about having left the counter-terrorism agency.
Manny Coto and Evan Katz will pen the script and executive produce while Stephen Hopkins will direct the pilot.
