Miramax and Focus Features International have picked up the English language remake rights to French thriller “Tell No One” reports Variety.
EuropaCorp and Spielberg’s frequent producing partner Kathleen Kennedy are set to produce the new version which, like the Guilliame Canet-directed original, will be based on American novelist Harlan Coben’s tome.
The story follows a doctor grieving for his dead wife who then discovers she may still be alive. As he tries to find her, other forces seem to be on the trail as well.
First released in 2006 in France, the film opened last Summer in the US and scored both critical acclaim and a solid $6 million box-office – making it the highest earning foreign language film of last year. It was just released on Blu-ray the other week.
Miramax and Focus will co-develop the film though no director or cast have been attached as yet. Shooting aims to kick off next Spring.
