“The Expendables” and “Godzilla” scribe Dave Callaham has been hired to work on the script for a new film based on the 1941 Universal movie “The Wolf Man,” this one to be a part of their larger Monsters Cinematic Universe initiative overseen by Alex Kurtzman (“Star Trek”) and Chris Morgan (“Fast & Furious”).
“Prisoners” scribe Aaron Guzikowski wrote the first draft of “The Wolf Man,” which is being produced by Kurtzman and Morgan.
In other scribe news, “Wonder Woman” scribe Jason Fuchs has been hired to pen the latest draft of Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming film adaptation of the popular video game “Minecraft”.
Fuchs takes over from “Doctor Strange” scribe Jon Spaihts who penned the first draft. Fuchs is currently working with director Rob McElhenney on developing the latest script before writing it.
The game, which debuted in 2009, allows players to create their own avatars and build an environment using textured cubes in a 3D world as they battle nocturnal monsters. The film debuts May 25th 2019.
