“Marauders” and “Arsenal” director Steven C. Miller has been announced as the helmer of the upcoming sequel to 2013’s prison break drama “Escape Plan” for Emmett/Furla/Oasis and Leomus Pictures.
The Tracking Board broke the news for the film which will again star Sylvester Stallone as Ray Breslin, a wrongly imprisoned structural engineer who must plan an escape. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return as Emil Rottmayer is still under discussion for now.
Jim Caviezel, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan also star.
Despite bombing domestically with just $25 million, the film went on to a $137 million worldwide box-office haul with much of the gross from China. So, unsurprisingly, “Escape Plan 2” will feature some Chinese story element in its script by Miles Chapman.
