“Deadpool” scene stealer and comedian T.J. Miller is leaving HBO’s “Silicon Valley”.
Miller portrays blowhard entrepreneur Erlich Bachman on the HBO comedy but is confirmed to not be returning for the fifth season. The rest of the show’s ensemble cast is expected to be back.
The series, currently halfway into its fourth season, scored a renewal order earlier today along with long-running presidential comedy “Veep”. In a statement, HBO says:
“The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for season 5. In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”
Miller has a ton of films on the way including “The Emoji Movie,” “Deadpool 2,” “Ready Player One,” “Walden,” “Underwater” and “How to Train Your Dragon 3”. His first standup special for HBO premieres on the service on June 17th, and he may return to HBO comedy “Crashing” for its second season.
