Milk, “Slumdog” Win WGA Honors

Dustin Lance Black’s adapted screenplay for “Milk” and Simon Beaufoy’s original script for “Slumdog Millionaire” took the top honors at this year’s Writer’s Guild Awards.

Other winners at this year’s ceremony were “Waltz with Bashir” for best doco while AMC’s “Mad Men” and NBC’s “30 Rock” scored the best drama and comedy series nods.

HBO’s “In Treatment” won best new series, while NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” took best comedy/variety series.
