Whilst an HBO representative told TelevisionWeek that “there are no current plans” to make the TV movies to wrap up plot lines on “Deadwood”, creator David Milch says the dismantling of the sets the other week makes little difference to the fate of the project.
Seems the pair of two-hour movies he had planned took place after the town of Deadwood is destroyed by fire and floods, thus the sets are unnecessary. Whilst neither HBO nor Milch will rule out the movies, their chances of happening remain next-to-nil.
Milch however is busy developing another project, a New York-set 70’s cop drama and new details reveal that it will involve the Knapp Commission investigations. The Knapp-era gave rise to the story of patrolman Frank Serpico, whose revelations about corruption within the department.
