Making his first comments since it was reported a month ago, “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen has finally discussed the possibility of him joining Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange”.
Back in late August, Mikkelsen was rumored to be in early talks to play one of the villains in the film opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character.
In a new interview with MTime, the celebrated Danish actor discussed the possibility of joining the Scott Derickson-directed Marvel adaptation. For now it seems its mostly online talk, though he admits if he got it he would be “over the moon”:
“I know as much as the rest of the world. So far it’s been rumors, so I’m waiting on a phone call… It would be fantastic to be a part of the Marvel family. I mean, it’s something we all grew up with. We all have our heroes, and Doctor Strange is definitely one of the more interesting things.”
Mikklesen is currently in the U.K. shooting “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Doctor Strange” is slated to start filming there in November.
