“Cedar Rapids” and “Youth in Revolt” helmer Miguel Arteta has come onboard to direct the film adaptation of best-selling children’s book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” at Disney Pictures.
The story follows a day in the life of Alexander, a young boy whose bad day sees him consider a move to Australia. Steve Carell is to play the boy’s father.
Lisa Cholodenko (“The Kids Are All Right”) was previously linked to the project but recently dropped out. She and Rob Lieber adapted the script.
