A half-hour animated series adaptation of the 1970s space-themed “Micronauts” toy line is being developed by Hasbro Studios with a planned 2019 airing.
Though popular as both toys and a Marvel comic book, “Micronauts” never got its own animated series like so many other toys of the time – thus the brand name recognition isn’t as strong.
In the series, an unlikely team of alien space explorers race to Earth in pursuit of the evil Baron Karza only to make a shocking discovery – on our world they are the size of action figures. They forge an alliance with teenager Cameron Ruck, who will join them in their pursuit of justice.
No word as to where this will air be it on a streaming service or on the Discovery Family network where many Hasbro Studios series debut. The show comes ahead of the planned “Micronauts” movie that Paramount and Hasbro has announced for a 2020 release and will be part of a linked Hasbro cinematic universe including “G.I. Joe,” “M.A.S.K.,” and “ROM”.
