Michael Stuhlbarg (“Steve Jobs,” “A Serious Man”) is in negotiations to join the cast of Scott Derrickson’s “Doctor Strange” at Marvel Studios and Disney Pictures. Shooting kicks off in December in London.
Benedict Cumberbatch plays the cocky surgeon who loses the use of his hands. In an effort to heal himself, he discovers magic and soon becomes the Sorcerer Supreme.
Stuhlbarg will play the role of Doctor Nicodemus West, the man who fixed Strange’s hands and even follows him to Kamar-Taj and undergoes his own mystical training.
Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen also star in the film which opens November next year.
