Director Michael Mann (“Heat,” “The Insider”) will team with scribe Sheldon Turner for the new mafia biopic “Big Tuna” according to Variety.
The story deals with Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo and his protege and eventual successor Sam Giancana. No studio has yet setup the project so Mann is hiring Turner out of his own development funds and is said to be considering this as his next project.
Mann is also said to be circling the adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s “Agincourt” and a biopic of World War II photographer Robert Capa. Which will come first isn’t clear at present.
