Michael K. Williams (“The Wire,” “Assassin’s Creed”) has been cast in a key role in Disney and Lucasfilm’s untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story that’s currently filming.
The story will explore the adventures of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) before the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope,” including their early encounters with Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).
Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge also star. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are helming the film which is targeting a May 25th 2018 release.
Williams can currently be seen in the ABC mini-series “When We Rise” and opposite James Purefoy in the second season of Sundance Channel’s “Hap and Leonard”.
