Michael Fassbender is reportedly in talks for the lead role in the film adaptation of acclaimed author Jo Nesbo’s best seller “The Snowman” for Working Title.
The seventh book in Nesbo’s Harry Hole series, the story is set in Oslo on the day of the first snow of the year having fallen. Fassbender would play a detective inspector who, upon the receipt of an anonymous letter, finds an alarming common thread in several old cases of disappearances of women on the first day of snowfall.
At the same time, a woman in on the run for her life from she knows not what, while a family sit in amazement at a snowman in their garden – a snowman with dark eyes staring right into their window.
Originally set to be a Martin Scorsese film, the movie will now be directed by Tomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”). Alfred son and Soren Sveistrup penned the script while Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are attached to produce.
