After three mega-budget epics, Michael Bay is going back to basics and confirmed over the weekend that his next project will be the low-budget dark comedy “Pain and Gain” reports MTV News.
“I’m still going to do it. I’m going to do it next” said Bay when asked about the film at the Moscow premiere of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.
News first emerged two years ago about ‘Pain’, described as a $20 million “Pulp Fiction”-esque movie dealing with extortion and abductions in the Florida criminal underworld. True story elements will be worked into the narrative and Bay says there will be no 3-D component to the film.
Asked about a potential “Bad Boys 3”, Bay says working out scheduling with him and Will Smith is difficult – “We talk about it. It’s hard to get our schedules together but it’s great working with those guys.”
