With its first post-bankruptcy co-financing deal announced this week (Paramount for “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”), MGM is moving forward with its plans to remake various 1980’s hit features from its library reports Variety.
The Lion has put out word that it intends to get five projects moving toward production including the reboots/remakes of “Robocop,” “Mr. Mom,” “The Idolmaker” and “Poltergeist”. They’re also keen on a Peter Berg-produced “Hercules” project.
MGM is still deciding whether to team with Sony Pictures to distribute the upcoming 23rd James Bond feature scheduled to begin production later this year.
