Metal Gear Solid Gets “Monsters” Scribe

British scribe Jay Basu (“Monsters: Dark Continent”) has reportedly closed a deal with Sony Pictures to write the feature adaptation of the video game series “Metal Gear Solid”.

Created by Hideo Kojima, the game follows the fortunes of Solid Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from Foxhound, a renegade special forces unit.

Snake must liberate two hostages – one the president of a major arms manufacturer – confront the terrorists, and stop them from launching a nuclear strike.

Avi and Ari Arad will produce the project which Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings Of Summer”) is attached to direct.
