Meryl Streep has joined the cast of the seven-episode second season of HBO’s high-profile drama “Big Little Lies” starring Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman.
Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of the abusive Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard). Her character will reportedly be a woman who is concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren and arrives in Monterey searching for answers.
Skarsgard is also said to be returning in some capacity for the new season though only the aforementioned three are set so far. The new season will also reportedly feature the parents for Zoe Kravitz’s character, Bonnie.
David E. Kelley is confirmed to return and has already penned all seven the scripts for season two, which is partially based on a story by Moriarty. Andrea Arnold will direct all seven episodes of the new season which plans to air in 2019.
