Mel Gibson is in negotiations to star in the spy thriller “Cold Warrior” for Universal Pictures reports the trades.
The story follows a Cold War spy (Gibson) who comes out of retirement to confront a domestic terrorism threat from Russia by joining with a younger agent. Charles Mondry wrote the script.
Gibson’s “Lethal Weapon” scribe Shane Black will direct, his second film after 2005’s critically acclaimed “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”. Michelle Manning, David Greenblatt and Anthony Bagarozzi are producing.
