An interesting new rumor about “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” and “Jack Reacher” writer/director Christopher McQuarrie has popped up over at Latino Review.
The site is reporting that the man spent two weeks doing a polish on the script for Garth Edwards’ upcoming “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. Gary Whitta (“Book Of Eli,” “After Earth”) was originally attached to write the screenplay for this first of the “Star Wars” spin-off films, but was later replaced by Chris Weitz.
The report comes as the release of the poster for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has revealed an interesting element regarding its script according to Film Divider – namely that Michael Arndt (“Toy Story 3,” “Little Miss Sunshine”) has scored a co-writing credit. Arndt penned the original drafts of the script which then underwent major re-writes by J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan in 2013.
