Actress Rose McGowan has reportedly filed a racketeering lawsuit today against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein along with his ex-attorneys Lisa Bloom and David Boies, and the spy firm Black Cube.
According to The Wrap, the lawsuit alleges that Weinstein conspired with his attorneys to suppress and discredit her allegation that Weinstein raped her at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997.
The suit states: “This case is about a diabolical and illegal effort by one of America’s most powerful men and his representatives to silence sexual-assault victims.”
The lawsuit comes a month after the publishing of journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey’s book “She Said” in which the authors outline how Bloom offered advice to Weinstein in memos on how to “help you against the Roses of the world, because I have represented so many of them.”
It also comes as Ronan Farrow’s book “Catch and Kill” has been released documenting how he came to report on the dozens of sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein.
