McG is set to return as director on a sequel to his Netflix horror-comedy feature “The Babysitter”.
The streaming service is fast-tracking the follow-up to the 2017 film which followed Cole (Judah Lewis), a love-stricken young man who yearns for his babysitter Bee (Samara Weaving).
One evening while Bee is babysitting, Cole witnesses the unthinkable and now he must survive a night full of first kisses, first broken hearts, and first encounters with homicidal maniacs. Bella Thorne, Andrew Bachelor, Robbie Amell and Hana Mae Lee co-starred.
The film received mixed-to-positive reviews but has been popular enough on the service that this sequel was ordered. Casting is underway on the project and filming is set to begin in October and run through Thanksgiving.
“American Vandal “showrunner Dan Lagana will pen the script, replacing Brian Duffield from the first film.
