Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, has picked up a pitch for a TV series from writers Daniel Mackey and Seth Fisher, and executive producer McG.
The series will deal with the infamous mystery about Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova. Thought killed as a teenager during the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, there were long standing rumors of her survival and various young women came forward claiming to be her.
This take will be set in Paris in the roaring 1920s. Having escape Communist Russia, she sets her sights on avenging the death of her family and joins forces with an elite espionage agency working to prevent another world war – effectively serving as a female spy influencing major events in the first part of the 20th century.
