McConaughey Turns Dad For “White Boy”

Matthew McConaughey is in negotiations to star in “’71” director Yann Demange’s new film “White Boy Rick”.

Logan and Noah Miller’s script, which has since been polished by Steve Kloves, follows Richard Wershe Jr. At the age of fourteen he became an undercover informant for law enforcement agencies in the mid-1980s.

He then established himself as a major drug dealer and that dual life led to him being jailed by the feds. Questions remain as how much the authorities were involved in corrupting him.

McConaughey will play Werhse’s father, a blue-collar factory worker trying to keep his family together as the automotive industry collapses around him in Detroit.

Darren Aronofsky, Jeff Robinov, Scott Franklin and John Lesher are producing and shooting kicks off in Michigan and Ohio in March.
