James McAvoy has emerged as the favourite to star in director Sacha Gervasi’s “My Dinner With Herve” reports The Playlist.
The story is based on Gervasi’s own experience interviewing “Fantasy Island” and “The Man with the Golden Gun” dwarf actor Herve Villechaize just days before he committed suicide in 1993. Steven Zaillian penned the script.
Ryan Gosling had been linked for the role but is out of the running, while Peter Dinklage has apparently already done screen tests as Villechaize.
Should McAvoy be locked for the part, he’d likely be out of the running for a role in Joe Wright’s new adaptation of “Anna Karenina”.
