May, Prix, Seconds, Countdown Remade

Montecito-based indie production company Vincent Pictures is developing only remakes and/or sequels to various John Frankenheimer-direct films that Kirk Douglas either produced or starred in reports Deadline.

Producer Peter Douglas (“Whip It,” “Fletch”), one of Kirk’s sons and half-brother to Michael Douglas, has secured most of the rights and will self-finance the acquisitions along with partnering with established filmmakers who have existing distribution, production and/or financing deals.

The short list of films include 1958 adventure feature “The Vikings”, Frankenheimer’s 1964 political thriller “Seven Days In May”, 1966’s “Seconds” starring Rock Hudson, famed 1966 racing drama “Grand Prix”, and 1980 naval time travel feature “The Final Countdown”.
