Boaz Yakin (“Remember The Titans”) has been set to direct the true story family adventure film “Max” which begins filming March 1st. Yakin is writing the script with Sheldon Lettich
The story follows a Belgian Shepherd Malinois military working dog who returns from active service in Afghanistan traumatized by his handler’s death. Adopted by the bereaved family, the dog bonds with the Marine’s troubled 14-year old brother and together they unravel the mystery about the death.
In other directorial news, “Kill Your Darlings” helmer John Krokidas has been set to helm “Standard Loneliness Package,” a film adaptation of the short story by Charles Yu. Keith Bunin is adapting the script.
The story follows a recent college graduate who gets an entry-level job at a tech company where he’s paid to experience painful events in other people’s lives. He falls desperately in love with his boss, and tries to build a genuine relationship in a society that’s becoming entirely virtual.
