Maude Good Times Could Get Remakes

He’s a few years shy of turning 100, but famed classic sitcom producer Norman Lear keeps kicking on with his Act III production company has just signed a two-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures TV.

The deal reportedly includes the option to re-imagine titles from Lear’s extensive library of shows including “All In The Family,” “The Jeffersons,” “Good Times” “Maude” and “Sanford and Son”.

Sony Pictures TV owns the Norman Lear library and has been his partner for the past few years. With the recent reboot of Lear’s classic series “One Day At A Time” a hit on Netflix, the relationship will now expand and could include several more remakes which would go either to network, cable or a streaming service.
