“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” director Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho production banner have locked down the screen rights to “Way Station” which will be turned into a large scale sci-fi thriller feature for Netflix.
For more than a century, Enoch Wallace has been the keeper of a Way Station on Earth for intergalactic alien travellers as they teleport across the universe.
But the gifts of knowledge and immortality that his intergalactic guests have bestowed upon him are proving to be a nightmarish burden, for they have opened Enoch’s eyes to humanity’s impending destruction. Only one final hope remains.
Writers are being sought to adapt the Hugo Award-winning novel by Clifford D. Simak which serves as the source material. Reeves, Adam Kassan, Rafi Crohn, Adam Massey and Lincoln Stalmaster will produce.
Reeves’ company is developing numerous projects for Netflix, including a new adaptation of Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” while Reeves himself will next direct “The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson for Warner Bros. Pictures.
