Matt Damon Implants Goat Testes In “Charlatan”

Matt Damon is set to star as John R. Brinkley in the upcoming true story indie drama “Charlatan” for K Period Media and Pearl Street Films.

Based on Pope Brock’s 2008 novel and adapted by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (“Ocean’s Thirteen”), the 1918 Kentucky-set tale follows Brinkley who was a doctor who conned his patients into thinking that he had discovered the cure to impotence – one that involved implantation of goat testicles.

The scheme made him rich until he was accused in court of the deaths of several of his patients.

Damon, who will produce with Kimberly Steward, will soon be seen in both George Clooney’s “Suburbicon” and Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing”.
