“Mass Effect: Andromeda” Opening 13 Minutes

Up until the last ten minutes or so of the trilogy capper, the “Mass Effect” game series has been one of gaming’s most beloved franchises, BioWare’s sci-fi universe offering an incredibly rich and diverse world building mythology.

That closer though left many with a bad taste in their mouth, so much so the series is effectively undergoing a minor reboot for this new entry “Mass Effect: Andromeda” which seems to be more of a spinoff.

Today the opening thirteen minutes of the game have gone online and confirm that the game follows a group of colonists that left the Milky Way galaxy in 2185, before the adventures of Commander Shepard and the war against the Reapers.

634 years of cryosleep later, they arrive in the Andromeda galaxy, ready to find a new home for humanity – but it turns out that the intended planet for colonisation, Habitat 7, has fallen victim to disaster. Now they must race to find a new home for humanity.

Clancy Brown and Natalie Dormer’s voices can be heard in the clip for the game which is due for release on March 21st.
