Aiming to do for Spider-Man what the ‘Arkham Asylum’ series did for “Batman,” Marvel and Insomniac Games have announced that their much-anticipated PS4-exclusive “Marvel’s Spider-Man” video game will be hitting stores on September 7th.
In an official statement just published to Sony’s blog, along with a copy of the official cover art, Insomniac posted:
“It has been an incredible experience for us to spend the last few years working on this game. From getting to create our own unique universe and story for our favorite Super Hero, to working with our talented collaborators at PlayStation and Marvel Games, to developing relationships with the Spider-Man and Marvel fan communities (#SpideySquad represent!), it’s been an amazing journey thus far.”
They also confirm there’ll be a Digital Deluxe edition which includes the post-launch DLC three-chapter series “The City That Never Sleeps” which boasts new missions, new villains and characters, and additional suits for Spider-Man.
There’s also a Collector’s Edition with a Steelbook case featuring the iconic white spider, Mini Artbook from Titan Books, and a Spider-Man statue by Gentle Giant.
