Marvel’s “Black Panther” Begins Production

Marvel Studios has announced that production is officially underway on the “Black Panther” film which will shoot over the next few months in Atlanta and South Korea.

As part of the announcement, a full cast list has been issued which also confirms Andy Serkis will return as Ulysses Klaw who made his debut in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

The main cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani.

Black Panther follows T’Challa, who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically-advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Ryan Coogler (“Creed,” “Fruitvale Station) directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”). The film opens in cinemas on February 16th 2018.
