Marvel Studios hasn’t been able to fully exploit their library due to some key characters being caught up in legal rights issues. One such character is Namor the Sub-Mariner, the underwater hero whose rights status President Kevin Feige once referred to as ‘complicated’.
Since then however, it sounds like things have cleared up with Marvel CCO Joe Quesada revealing to Kevin Smith’s Fat Man on Batman podcast that the King of Atlantis is back where he belongs.
Asked directly if Namor is once again part of the MCU, Quesada replied: “I can’t speak for studios…As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony…Yeah.” Asked if we’ll see the character on the big screen any time soon, he said only: “I cannot confirm or deny, sir.”
